McGill Griffin
Practice Statement

Since 1982 this firm has limited its practice to the representation of injured persons and their loved ones. We do not represent corporations, employers, insurance companies or hospitals. We only represent people who are victims of someone else’s negligence.

We accept serious injury and death cases from maritime injuries, motor vehicle accidents and injuries from any type of defective product.

All cases are accepted on a contingency contract where attorneys’ fees are paid at the end of the case from the settlement or judgment award. The cost of litigation, like the fees, are recovered at the end of the case from the settlement or judgment award. If we do not recover a settlement or judgment for you, you owe us nothing.

Our maritime law practice is dedicated to representing injured passengers, crew members and their families for recovery of money damages for injuries and deaths related to accidents involving commercial vessels and recreational boats of all types. "Vessels" include tow boats, crew boats, harbor tugs, cruise ships, casino boats, blue water cargo ships and tankers, trawlers, ferry boats, oil field jack-up rigs, semi-submersibles, drill ships and dredges. Recreational boats include houseboats, yachts, ski boats, personal water craft such as jet skiis and ski-doos, fishing boats, sail boats, parasails, and any other type of boats used for recreation.

We accept serious injury and death cases in motor vehicle accidents, particularly sport utility vehicle accidents involving rollovers and roof-crush cases. Early in his career Gerald McGill represented Ford Motor Company and General Motors in product liability cases involving their vehicles. Mr. McGill has a B.S. Degree in Engineering and has handled numerous types of vehicular cases. Further, if the accident happened in a state where we cannot personally represent you or in an area of law that we do not handle, we will make every effort to find a competent attorney specializing in your type of case.

Over the years the firm has handled cases involving defective products, including but not limited to, chain saws, all-terrain vehicles, morphine injection pump malfunctions, surgical heating blanket malfunctions, defective ladders, defective chairs, electrical shocks from hand tools and defective power cords, injuries from a failed safety switch on a tire recapping machine, and other cases in which an understanding of engineering principles is most useful.

Our firm is dedicated to competent, courteous, effective and timely representation. All initial inquiries are without charge or any obligation and are strictly confidential. In appropriate cases we will travel nationally and internationally to meet with potential clients. We frequently associate with lawyers in other states where we participate as co-counsel with local attorneys.
